In Old Basford, the image of the Immaculate Heart of Mary was handed over by Jude Amamio to the Provida Family on October 20, 2010. Mary Ann led the Welcome Prayer. Two days after, the group joined the family in praying the Sorrowful Mysteries. During the Reflection, people were asked “Which mystery of the Rosary could you relate with and why?” An interesting sharing was given by most participants drawing inspiration from a particular mystery and relating it with their personal experience. After salu-salo, the group processed to the Sarroza residence which is located right in front of Mary Ann’s house. Pedro Sarroza accepted the image from Chris Provida on behalf of his family.
The following Sunday, October 24, people congregated at the Sarrozas for the Rosary recitation which Pedro led. Group members made a sharing on “How do you persuade others to follow Christ?” in celebration of World Mission Sunday. Pietro Albano later made an appeal for the fundraising event in aid of Our Lady’s Parish Community Hall. Having spent a few days in Old Basford, the image was brought back to Arnside Road where it found a home at the Abrera Residence. Pedro handed over the image to Rachel Abrera while Ronald, her husband, read the Welcome Prayer.
October 26 was the night when the prayer meeting was held. Ronald led the Rosary. The topic for discussion was “How do you stay in love with your vocation?” A short meeting was also held in preparation for the Closing Event on October 31. From Arnside Road in Bestwood, the image was moved to the Talanays in Longmead Drive in Daybrook, the last area within the group’s scope to be visited by Our Lady’s image.
